At Optica eye tests are free.
-
During an eye test, a professional Optometrist will assess your vision and the health of your eyes.
The eye test can take 15 minutes to an hour.
An eye test may include the following:
- Measuring your visual acuity: Ability to see details at different distances.
- Refraction Test: Performed to find the right prescription for glasses or contact lenses.
- Measuring the pressure in your eyes.
Additional tests may be performed based on your age, medical history and ongoing symptoms.
-
When you go to an eye test, it's a good idea to bring the following:
- Your insurance information and any paperwork related to your eye exam coverage.
- Your current glasses or contact lenses.
- Bring a list of any medication you're taking.
- Bring any previous test results for an eye exam if you've had one before.
Bringing this information with you can ensure your eye doctor has all the information to provide you with the best possible care.
-
It is recommended to have an eye test every 1-2 years for adults aged 18-60.
Currently we are in the process of partnering with insurance companies.
-
Yes, you can get a prescription for glasses or contacts after an eye test.
The eye test will determine the need for vision correction, and the prescription will include the type and strength of the correction needed for each eye.
If you already wear glasses or contacts, the Optometrist can update your prescription based on your eye test results.
